Three additional positive tests were identified during testing yesterday, 11/16. One of these was a school-aged child, the implications of which are addressed in a separate PSA from the City and letter from the School Superintendent. The other two positive tests are both travel related. One was a resident; the other was not.
This is a critical moment during our community’s COVID-19 response. With effective inoculations on the horizon, the far side of this pandemic is finally visible. But we are not there yet. Alaska’s positive test results are at an all-time high. In response to this, the Medical Response Team has issued new travel recommendations discouraging residents from traveling and nonresidents from visiting during this time unless absolutely necessary.
It is up to all of us to protect each other. Please make decisions with not only yourself but our entire community in mind.
