Four additional positive COVID-19 case were identified in screening yesterday, two residents and two non-residents. These most recent results bring the active virus case count to eight.
Earlier this week, the City raised the Health Alert status to Level 3: Watch. The total COVID-19 count since the pandemic began is 27; 14 residents and 13 non-residents.
Contact tracing is underway for those identified as positive. The individuals are isolating and close contacts are being advised to get tested and self-quarantine until results are available. The Cordova Medical Response Team will review information gathered during contact tracing and address further concerns as appropriate.
The recent cases were symptomatic and appear to be the effects of behaviors from last weekend. All residents and visitors are encouraged to do their part to stop the spread in our community. Cordova has a mandatory mask rule when in public. Please follow additional safety recommendations regarding COVID-19, including gatherings.
