COVID-19 tests are available, free of charge, to any individual in Cordova. Individuals can get tested through a drive-up clinic but are asked to call in advance. Cordova confirms positive COVID-19 test

The City of Cordova, in conjunction with local healthcare representatives, confirm one positive COVID-19 case in Cordova. The individual showed no signs of symptoms and had traveled to Cordova from out of the state. He was tested during a routine screening while in quarantine with his employer, Ocean Beauty. The individual is in isolation and the company is cooperating with the city.

Emergency Order 2020-05 – updated operating rules for businesses

This emergency order updates emergency rules regarding business operations, simplifies the mutual aid agreement process, updates language for medical quarantines and ensures consistency with other mandates. These rules remain in effect until May 20. This emergency order reinstates Cordova business restrictions that were lifted in State of Alaska’s Health Mandate 16 Phase 1-A to Reopen Alaska Responsibly.
