Cordova, Alaska…The Cordova Medical Response Team identified a fourth active positive result during screening on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Contact Tracing has begun. The Cordova Medical Response Team reminds the community it has the power to control the spread of this virus. Each of the following actions is proven to decrease the transmission of COVID-19:
· Wear a face covering over your mouth and nose when in public spaces.
· Socially distance by at least 6 feet.
· Self-isolate and use curbside or to-go deliveries.
· Maintain a small, social bubble and only frequent public places when necessary.

· Wipe down often-touched surfaces with disinfecting wipes.

Individuals can receive free COVID-19 testing in Cordova at the following times:
FREE Drive-Up testing is available for anyone in Cordova!! FIVE DAYS A WEEK!
Monday through Friday 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Ilanka Community Health Center, downstairs across from the Episcopal Church.
AND
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Cordova Community Medical Center in the Ambulance Bay.

Please call ahead!! ICHC 424-3622 and CCMC 424-8000 to complete a required pre-registration. This will save you time!
CCMC and IHC are working hard to accommodate multiple schedules by having different times offered during the week. Offering this entirely for free 5 days a week, comes with A LOT of effort! This is a service not available in many other communities.
You are encouraged to come during the dedicated times so medical teams can conserve PPE, continue regular routine patient care, and meet all regulatory obligations for medical testing, recording, resulting, cost report, etc. If there is a serious extenuating circumstance, they will make other arrangements.
How long does it take for test results? It depends on the type of test, but results are usually back in 1-2 days or sooner.
